⏳Later…

This essay came to me last year. The day before my brother called to tell me that our mother had collapsed and was in the hospital. It was a shock for me, and also a moment of deep realization—that our only certainty is this moment, nothing more, nothing less.

With the arrival of the year 2026 and the strong wind I feel in the air, as if a fiery horse were already galloping toward us, this text is a reminder to me that there is no time to wait. Right now is the right time— with trust in ourselves and in life — to saddle the horse and use the wind for a real ride. So here’s to a beautiful ride, my loves. May it be full of the right rhythm, vitality, sensitivity, and the courage to leap into the unknown — toward new beginnings and moments in which we allow ourselves to fully feel the juice and color of life in all its fullness.

Later. A word that pushes now into a misty veil of forgetting.

How often we use it. We’ll see each other later. We’ll talk later. We’ll sort it out later. I’ll get back to you later. We’ll go later. As if we had some certainty that later would patiently wait for us where we left it. But later does not belong to us. It is only a quiet illusion — a wanton lover seducing us with promises so that we keep waiting. An illusion of time that pulls us away from the fragile, living spark of this moment.

It trails behind us like a long, familiar shadow. A black dot at the edge of the day that can, in the blink of an eye, turn into the eternal death of what was never spoken. Into an un-lived moment that will never breathe. Into a touch that was never returned. And then moments with loved ones dissolve into mere memories. A smile breaks into a bitter caricature. And from later, suddenly, it is too late.

And perhaps the fiery horse does not arrive to push us forward. Perhaps it only reminds us that life has long been moving on. Here. Now. And nothing more is needed.

Thank you for 2025, viva 2026! ✨🐎🤍
